I just bought a Canadian Monte SS and the outer ring of the odometer is in Kilometers and the inner ring is Miles. So I guess my question is... what is the odometer in? Kilometers or Miles. Probably a dumb question but I need a definite answer. Also is there any other differences between US and Canadian made Monte Carlo SS? Thanks for the help

 

Well, being in Canada, I can tell you it's in kilometers.

I don't think you can switch it to miles like you can with the Driver Info Center on the ceiling.

If it really bothers you, you can get a U.S. guage cluster from the junk yard and switch it. You'll find that the warning symbols in the guage cluster are different too. It's a long story. But basically the symbols are different to make the french-canadian province of quebec happy.

Oh yeah, 1 kilometer = 0.621 miles

Incase you're wondering how many miles are on your car. But I use the measurement conversion app on my iPhone instead of a calculator. Faster. :p

 

Thats great news because its has 79,000 kilometers, so its around 49,000 miles. I got a great deal on it then,worth more than I payed. Thanks alot for the info.

Its a 1986 SS White with original paint and striping and Ttops. Interior is like it had plastic on it. One owner with no accidents or thefts. I bought it in Massachusetts,I am from Rhode Island. He was asking 10500 and I got it for 7800 cash. I have been looking on autotrader and ebay for awhile and I have not found one nicer for around that price range. Pickup will be saturday however we just got slammed with 21 inches of snow today but I should be able to get it then. I will def post pics then. Thanks again for the advice.
