Burnt CD help
Ok, last night I bought a 5 pack of Memorex CD-RW. I burned a disk using iTunes. But my STOCK CD player said Check disk. So i re-burned it using Windows Media player. Some thing. I tried it in a friend of mines, and it played. Other burnt disks play in my stereo, but not this one. Anyone else have this problem? Do i need a certain disk?
The problem is either, you didnt finalize the disk(which will happen if one of your tracks didnt go through (but you said it played in another CD player so scratch that)
All I can think of is, you burnt it as MP3 and I dont think the stereos play MP3's.

it depends what type of file it is. some play more types of files then others. like most of my songs are mp4 and i cant burn and play a cd with them. i believe its .wma files that they play. you can download a file converter ofline, but be carefull whitch one you download for free, i have downloaded free ones before. and check the files of cd's that play to make sure you are converting them to the right file type.
I have found the cd player to be very picky. I no longer burn my cds with either I tunes or Windows media player, as neither have given decent results.
I do however user Nero 9 it will burn almost anything, and is super easy.
Some other things to try are different types of media. cd-r cr+r cd-rw cd+rw. The stock radio will sadly not play MP3 discs, (or allow a line in for your ipod) but what do you expect, they are 5 years old at best.
I have found that the cd player in my '05 like HP band cd-r discs, then again, it also has a tape player...

I would also agree that some early CD players have issues playing CD-RW disks and that it's not consistant. I work with CD-RW drives of this era and while CD-RW disks work many times, these CD-RW players tend to work best when using CD-R disks. Try using CD-R disks. If that doesn't work, try buying the CD-R disks that are rated for data and not music. The Music disks can be cheaper but soemtimes cause trouble also.
Never use an RW for something like a music disc unless you can play .mp3 files directly and not as audio so you can rewrite on them and burn like 150 song discs.
I agree it's probably just because it's an RW and most things only read R

it's cus you're using RW's. quit being cheap and use cd-R's.
correct me if i'm wrong, RW's use a heavier media that is capable of being. burned over and over where cd-R's use a lighter media that can only be burnt once. the laser is burning the data onto it. the problem is that there's probably a weak laser in the factory cd player that can't read the heavier RW discs.
