Unhappy Brake warning light and emergency light always on

Hello My Monti friends. I just changed my front brake pads, rotors, calipers and my back brake pads, rotors on my 2004. After bleeding and topping up the fluid. The brake warning light and emergency light stays on? I tested the emergency brakes and it is not stuck and works properly. The brakes also work ok? I have driven the car a few days now and no braking issues. So I thought to change the back calipers anyway as I thought makes no sense not to have everything replaced but I am perplexed on why these lights stay on? P.S the brake warning light is the CAD light symbol if that helps. And when I did the work on the car it was -30 outside (OMG will not do that again). Its been warm these past few days and I want to figure out this prob.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps it is your brake light switch. My truck was doing something similar.

I would try to re-bleed the system starting in the order of passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front . You didn't mention if you did the gravity bleed or the pressure method ( bleeding machine or person in car ). I would go with a person helping at this point. Have someone pump and hold brake pedal and hold, open the bleeder until the brake pedal hits the floor and then close bleeder and repeat until you get no air bubbles and clear fluid. Thinking if you allow the brake pedal to go to floor it might reset the brake light switch.

Hey my fellow Monti owners.

I found out the prob. my float was stuck in the Reservaur.

I had re-bleded the brakes, made sure the fluid was up. Then tapped the reservaur a few times and the lights went off.

OMG- Sometines its that simple .
