Default Brake & Trac light

Due to the bad weather, and maybe a weak battery, I had to charge my car. When it started, the Brake and Trac lights were on. I checked out everything and can't find anything wrong. What caused this? Thanks

You may have a Battery that needs to be replaced, it is weak and maybe causing the problem.
A good battery should start your car with 12 Volts, a fully charged battery with the car running will produce 13.7 to 14.7 volts.
They are to much of a hassle not to just replace them because the car uses power while it is just sitting there.
Hope that helps.

Thx, that helps with the battery. Would that also cause the Trac n brake light problem? Trac button just feels mushy. It was fine b4 the dead battery. It's just makes no sense really.

Maybe there is an issue with the contacts on the connections, I have a problem with the Airbag sensor light on my 06 Pontiac Torrent, If I clean up the contact a bit it will work. I have used a pencil eraser on it seems to help and is better than replacing the sensor.
I will see what I can find out? Check some of these Youtube vids out and see if that might be of some help. Seems to be a problem with sensors, however one fellow found a ground wire that was corroded and once he leaned that up it was all good. Another one had to replace the upper module unit. Hope some of these will help.

Those lights were probably nothing (computer left them on after checking the circuits) as long as they went out you should be good to go. Herman

I would try disconnecting the battery cables and holding them together for a few minutes , then reconnect them or take it and have the codes erased or read at service station. I took mine to Auto Zone and if there’s and dash light on like service traction or abs they will give you a code and print out , there should be a code to pinpoint the problem. If you jumped the battery, it might of blown a relay somewhere. A bad battery can create a host of problems, make sure the battery is 100%.
