Default Brake convertions

hello just purchued a 01 Monte Carlo SS with 17" wheels and would like to upgrade to larger brakes front in rear. the kits are very pricey There was some talk that i can use camaro parts for the front how much larger would the setup be if so what years and what parts should i get from wrecking yards and part store also what would i use for the rear lmk

You can use F-Body calipers on the front, but that only gets your 2 piston calipers, and saves you some weight. It's not a size upgrade.

All the size upgrades are expensive. I don't know much about the rear swaps.

Only real cheap options would be to find a GXP Grand Prix & pull its brakes it has 12.7" fronts & 12" rears but the front Camaro caliper swap is pretty good i done it to mine & it stops great

This sounds like a great summer project! Does the year of the Camaro matter for the swap or is there a preferred year?

98-02 Camaro calipers & brackets, youll have to get the mounting holes re drilled for the montes bolts

Or purchase the ZZP kit that allows the bolts to be used: ZZPerformance - FBody Caliper Install Kit #ZZ-FBCALKIT

Dont buy the bolt kit ppl have issues with them, plus a machine shop can drill & thread the brackets for less

so the camaro claiper will give me more stoping power or jst looks if i uses the gxp set up what will i need from the donor car?
