Belt tensioners
They do last more than 5,000 miles don't they? Noise is coming back from the power steering Dealer replaced the tensioner and belt @ 4300 miles. Starting to hear power steering belt chatter at 9300 miles. Last time the dealer had to get the chassis ears.
Do they make the cars fail right after 3 years 36,000 miles on purpose? Wife's Malibu had an intake gasket just failure at 43,000 miles. I won't be a car without an extended warranty. My Beretta had 2 intak gaskets fail within 87,000 miles. These 2 parts (tensioners and intake gaskets) should last at least 100,000 miles if not the life of the engine.
Is this the only way GM can try to keep up with the imports? To use cheap materials to keep the price of the car low to their competitors?
