well i was driving with my mom who has a 06 monte ss,and all of a sudden the power steering goes out,well right to the dealership we go.and they say just that a power steering line,they say their have been problems with that.anybody else have issues with that

 

Yes. There is a TSB on it with the cold temps near 0. On an SS they need to drop the engine cradle.

 

yes i also have an 06 ss that the power stering line has went out twice one last febuary and again in january. the dealer that fixed mine both times said there is no TSB on the problem

 

I have a TSB on the 06 models via ALLDATA and there was a campiagn for MCs in older climates.

 

Thanks i found the TSB and they are useing a new power steering line now to replace the old one so hopefully that fixes the problem

 

My 07 Monte Carlo has a leak in the power steering line and of all places its at the grommet.... It doesnt look it was crimped good enough because when I pull the mesh back and turn the car on and turn the wheel i can see it squirting out of the grommet.. and unfortunately its not covered under the power tran warranty i have on the car... and the line is a dealer item only which means only a dealer could replace it for me...... and its around 350$ round about...
