Default Annoying rattle when I shut my door.. .??

Hey guys, I get a very annoying rattle when I shut my drivers door.. It's not anything serious (I hope ) but it sounds like a cheap pos when I shut the door.. Any ideas what could be loose ? Also, I was thinking about putting in that sound dreading Matt in the door, would that help it ? Thanks....mjclemm...

Hi M.J.,
Please post a sound clip
Have you removed your driver's side door panel & looked for anything that's lose ? Is it a rattle or a vibration ? or both ?
Does your driver's door window go up & down with no problem(s) ? Does you door handles (inside & out work properly ?)

Does it only happen when you close your driver's door ?
Do you hear 'it when driving down the road ?

I would check the power window tracks, sometimes screws can get loose.

Honestly, your best bet is to take the door apart.

The factory sound deadening material is not rigid enough to make a rattle. You could have any number of possibilities. Could be a clip came unmounted, someone slipped something through the weather stripping, skies the limit.

If it's that loud of a rattle that it catches your attention when you close your door. it has to be something heavy in there. I'm thinking a plastic fastener / shim has wore out with the window track assembly and is letting the glass and metal components strike against each other when closing the door. No rattling while your driving??

Not being able to hear what you hear, I would have to agree with both Mike and Jason. But I would also check the Rivets for you power window Motor. Although less likely than the other suggestions, if one or more is worn, but not completely sheered off, it would let the motor (which is second only to the Window in weight) move a lot in that shot distance, rattling against the inner sheet metal and making a horrible noise. Worst thing about it is you may not notice any change in how the window moves until the rivet is completely sheered off. Same thing for your Door Speakers. But they might also rattle when you have strong bass going to them.
