okay good, i didn't read it right then, that would probably work fine then, make sure to pick a fuse that only works when the car is on though, not sure if onstar works with the car turned off or not

Yep I've got mine setup so it only comes on when the car is on. I'm not sure about the OnStar either. I'd really stay away from hooking up to that as a remote source because I have no clue how that works with the car being on or off. There's a few wires, for other accessories, coming off the fuse box (behind passenger door sill) that only come on when the car is turned on. One of them will work fine, just have to test and find one.

I always just use the radio fuse...lol But, this is a very awesome topic. If I can find a cheap line out converter, I may have to try to do a write up on it.

This is what I got from a buddy of mine who works in an audio shop.

"What you need is a 2ch line output converter. You will tie into the rear speakers, since they will be easy to grab the wires. You will see a brown(+) yellow(-) for one speaker and a dk. Blue(+) and lt blue(-) for the other rear speaker. Tap into those wires for the l.o.c. Then plug in the RCA and run it to the amp. As far as the power wire I would get 4 gauge and your remote wire you can tap at the fuse box or at a cig lighter or the thick brown or orange wire coming off the ignition key cylinder."

SOunds pretty easy and legit, also sounds like what a lot of yall are saying.

Yep what he told you is basically what you have to do, and it is pretty straight forward.

And yeah, there are quite a few options for a remote source lol. A future write up on this would be great. I assumed there'd already be one for something like this, but I haven't looked.

there really isn't one yet unfortunately, not many people have done it for our cars, and the few that have just didn't do a writeup, i will try to get my hands on a converter and make a writeup sometime just to make it easier on everyone!
