Default Always something

My son (he is 16 and his first car) gets in his 01 SS this morning and finds out the driver side power window won't work. He has the car one day, worked yesterday when he brought it home. When we pushed the down button we can see the alt gauge move but not the window. Kinda figure its the regulator, so we did a quick search on you tube and I think he is going to get his first experience in car repair. Doesn't look that hard tried to pull the switch plate out before we did a search and we broke the small screw that holds the plate in from the back side. Nothing that a little epoxy won't take care of. Going to tackle it later this week will keep you guys updated.

The first thing to check is the Switches that is most likely the culprit.
No matter what it does to the Gauges. I have had several GM vehicles and the switch went out and caused the problem. Check for a loose wire in the Switch also.
Not sure if you can still get a new one from the local Dealer parts. But you may want to look at that if the window is up and it wont go down it is usually in the switch. Good luck!!

Yep switch... Common problem I had. Cost about $40 at the parts store or $80 at the dealer.

Going to get one tomorrow, funny thing he got it in this morning and the window worked fine. So I'm going to get one and we are going to put one in now before it gets cold and see what happens. Thanks for the help and will let you know how it goes.

Probably just get one from car quest or something that has life time guarantee. Get it local something happens no waiting around for the new part.
