Default 5th gen cabin air filter

I was just wondering if my 98 has a cabin air filter. If so where is it located?
Thanks!

The cabin air filter is located under the cowl on the passenger side.

I've never looked for one in my Monte, but from what I remember there isn't one in 5th gen Montes. Supposedly though, there is an area underneath the passenger windshield wiper where the air comes into the cabin through some plastic "tubing" that has a mold that can fit a cabin air filter. I haven't verified this though.

I am curious about this too. I read in the owners manual that there is a cabin air filter but no mention of where it is. Was this an option or standard? If I have one I definitely would like to replace it. Does anyone have a pic showing where it is?

Popped the panel off on the pass side cowl to have a look and there was no filter in there. Took the time to vacuum out all the debris. Looked around and find no other compartments of where one might be. Went back to the owners manual and can't find where I thought I read that.
I don't know if I am more dissappointed that I didn't find one or relieved that there isn't one. After 12 years I am sure it would have been very dirty.

The air filter in your car's engine helps it run at maximum efficiency. But what of the cabin air filter? Well, perhaps you can think of it as something that helps the motorist operate most efficiently. Learn the best way to switch it so that you can continue to breathe clean air

- Had a 1995 LS for 7 years, ... there is not one, & I have never heard of a cabin air filter as an "option" on any vehicle.
