4th Generation spool help?
Hey guys. I'm installing a min spool and c-clip eliminator on my street stock which happens to be a 4th gen Monte. I need help figuring out the right measurements for the spool since where the car is currently located I can't open up the rear end and look myself.
The car was originally a '83 Monte. I don't know if the rear end is original but it is a standard OE rear end for the Monte. I need to know how many splines the axle has and the Axle seat diameter (as in 1.533", 1.398", or .1.772"). Is there a standard Measurement that all 4th Gen. Monte's share? Or are there any markets on the outside of the rear end housing that could tell me?
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it!
P.S. - I'm new here, so if there is a better section to post this in just let me know.

all te montes 78-88 came with the 7.5" ten bolt rear. i can only answer your spline question. factory axles were 26 spline. you can upgrade to the 28 spline axles, and retain the housing, but you would need the axles, and carrier. then again since you plan on running a spool perhaps you should look into running 28 spline, and pick up a new set of axles while youre at it. moser makes affordable 28 spline axles for the 7.5 g body rear.
