hello i have an 86 mcss with a non stock motor with a 200r4 trans,iv been reading about a lock up kit for it dont realy understand what it does, if the torqconverter doesnt lock up does that hurt my performance, its fast but would that make it hook up better going down the road ?thanks

 

it locks up the converter when your cruising to help fuel economy, and you'll run a couple hundred rpm lower cruising, performance wise... no affect.
