Default 2007 Monte carlo LS 3.5L K-Flex problem

ok so I had to have the BCm replaced now the car is working again, I was hoping that it would fix a another issue I have been having but it did not.. hopefully some one on here can give me a few pointers, the car runs great now, but if I turn on the heat after a few mins the temp gauge drops all the way down and says "engine Hot A/C off" and if I continue to use the heat the engine light comes on... but if I turn off the heat and drive for a day or so without it on the error message will go away... the advance auto told me it was the temp sensor that screws into the engine block and has a 2 wire plug that hooks to it, so I bought the part and replaced it and still having same issue, now they say it might be air in the system but that just doesn't sound like it would cause the problems I have, if I continue to drive with heat until engine light comes on and get the computer read it says it says something about the sensor I replaced getting high voltage... please help a army vet out with a few ideas cause I just don't know and I cant afford another 700+ bill at a dealer....

Imo bud, the best thing to do, would be possibly let the dealer take a look. OR! if you could turn it on, let the engine check light come on and get a code for us

I got the Engine hot/ AC off message once years ago when my car was newer. The problem was my thermostat. The Thermostat in the 3.5L can be faulty (dealer told me that). There is like a rubber gasket internally in the thermostat that has a tendency to crack and bend. It allows for continuous flow and makes the T-Stat loose function. It's a really simple fix to replace it.

Not 100% sure this is your issue, but based on my experience I'd give it a whirl.

Good Luck.
