Default 2006 ss will not start

The car acts as if the anti theft has been activate or
that the car is not all of the way in park. Key will not come out of the ignition. Will not turn over. Cant press brake down and move shifter.
Everyone has their own theory but no solution.
I put a brand new battery in the night it happened hoping it would help. No luck

Okay I did a little research for you. One possible thing it could be the Neutral Safety Switch.

But this video could be the solution you are looking for. There is a possibility that the alarm is on the Car and your security system has been activated.
Change the setting with the Radio. Check this video for the details. I hope it works. Let me know if this solves it, this seems logical

I believe if the security system was activated, you could test by leaving the battery unhooked for a few minutes then when you hook the battery back up, the alarm should sound..

edit: With the key out of the ignition.. Guess you may not be able to test it if you cant get it out huh..

It sounds like the neutral safty switch..

Please post back with whatever it turns out to be..

I vote neutral safety switch, as I did on FB last week. (Thanks for reminding me of the correct term.)

Well, so far it is looking like the BCM. There may be an issue with the ignition as well. I'm not certain yet.
thank you for the research and suggestions.
I'll post with a final diagnosis when I know...and it is driveable again!

How did you get it driving again? I'm having a similar issue.
