Default 2006 fog light question

Hi guys,

I have a 2006 MC SS with a burned out fog light. The owners manual listed almost every bulb on the car except that one and said that if the bulb needed is not listed that the car has to be taken to the dealer. I looked under the front end and then opened the hood and looked around and it seems to be a very difficult area to try and access. Has anyone replaced one of these on their own yet? If so, can you supply the p/n needed and any tips to replace it? I hate to pay a dealer to replace something that should be a simple fix.

Thanks!

I think you have to remove the headlight assembly and then you can reach down to the fogs easily.

The fog lights are the exact same ones as your low beam headlights, the H11's.. Also, yes you do have to remove the headlight assembly to get to the fog lights.. It isn't hard to do, just one bolt on the top of the headlight assembly, and a white clip that you pull up on.. After that, it's easy to access the fog light bulb area.. Just a matter of twisting it and pulling the bulb out.

I replaced all of my lights with the Xenon bulbs on my 06 LT and love the blue tint and the brightness.

or, if you aren't able to do it yourself, most oil change places can do it for you cheaper than the dealer.

draxxis, did you have to change anything more than just the bulbs to put in the xenons? If so what parts did you use? I own an 06 LT also.
