2005 monte carlo ss need help
hello good morning hope all is good
im in dire need of your help please
im currently working on a 2005 monte carlo ss tony stewart edition
for a friend
there was a toggle switch under the hood that ran from the hot side on the bottom post of the fuse box under the hood to the toggle switch and then to the radiator fans well i didnt care for that so i rewired them back up correctly
to the oem wires and then i when to try to start it and upon turning the key to the start the dash light go completely dead then when i releases the key back to the on position
the the dash lights up again
i have tried the ten minute relearn method
when the toggle switch was hook up the car raan and started up but when reconnected back to the original oem wire the car does nothing no start no engine crank no fuel pump and so on
please help thank u kindly

Sounds like something is not allowing the serial data link for the ant-theft circuit to complete the loop.
1. Did you disconnect the negative side at the battery? There if not, there may have been a short that blew the fuse for the BCM or PCM. It's located in the driver side fuse compartment at the left side of the dash.
2.Since the lights go out when the key is turned to the start position, the wire to the start position of the ignition switch might not be connected or it's broken, or could be a bad ignition switch.
3.Are all grounds intact? Were any grounds removed? Could any grounds have been hot?
4.You may need to do the 30 minute security re- learn instead of the 10 minute. Pretty much the same, but repeated 3 times.
The Security Relearn Procedure. This procedure allows the PCM to function properly in your vehicle after a security breach.
Follow the steps listed below completely.
1. Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position.
2. Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is illuminated.
3. Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position, DO NOT remove the key.)
4. Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 11 minutes (the security light should stop flashing, if not wait up to 3 more minutes).
5. Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds.
6. Repeat #1 - #5 for 3 cycles.
7. On 4th-5th attempt, car should start.
NOTE : Since this is a fairly long procedure, I would limit all electrical sources, such as disconnecting headlights, or connecting a battery charger to prevent discharge of battery.
NOTE 2 : It is SAFE to wait LONGER than the allotted time, but it is not safe to wait less time. I.e. 12 minutes instead of 11 minutes should be safe; however, waiting 10 minutes instead of 11 minutes is not safe.
Properly executed, this procedure should take approximately 35 minutes to complete.
