Opinion Needed: 2004 no cold air

Default 2004 no cold air

Getting cold air on and off, most of the time itsjust regular air coming out, any known issues or likely possibilities?
I took one of those $20 refrigerant fillup guages to the valve and it didnt read anything, just to add

You have a leak somewhere, and need more freon.

I would take it to a shop.

X2. If its leaking bad enough to have leaked everything out, it's a waste to keep pumping refrigerant into it. Get a shop to put some dye in it, figure out exactly what's leaking, replace it, then vacuum down the system and add fresh refrigerant.
