Default 2004 monte leaking coolant

Ok i bought this monte about 6 hours ago drove it home and washed it vacuumed it all is good. Got it home looked at her she is very pretty if i didn't have a wife NVM not trying to end up on TLC.

Let me get to the thing that made me Before i tell you the issue. I did check it over like a hawk checked the bolts on the parts he said he replaced thecked the fluids all was good seemed like a honest guy (he probably is) but i drove this bad boy home (a hour drive) took her right to the car wash the wash her off. She sat for 8 months so I wanted to see this beauty shine . Well I took her home after looking at her and taking many picture's. I decided to crack open the hood to take a look at its heart. I noticed something had changed and i didn't know how to feel about it (i was pissed) the coolant reservoir didn't have any of that crappy dexcool in it. I even fingered the rad and it wasn't wet..... I closed the hood and took a shower.

With my mind cleared I took another shot at looking at it without feeling my blood pressure boil. I see the leak (pretty sure i do) Use your imagination for second you are standing at the passenger side looking at the engine bay. From the passenger side panel to the driver side panel is north. Take your finger and go north east from the coolant reservoir. and boom you'll find the leak. There is a big hose that has fluid on top of it. But, there are two lines that are right by the puddle of coolant (i tasted it tastes like acidic ****) Now can you monte carlo gods tell me where this leak is.

First of all, welcome to the forum!!
The leak could be your coolant elbows. The originals are a plastic material and they eventually crack and leak.

Do you by chance have a part number?

Rockauto has them

part # 47065hp
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...artnum=47065hp

The one to the right you can see go into your LIM.

Can also find the aluminum ones at Intense racing:
INTENSE-Racing.com: Aluminum 3800 Coolant Elbows

Thanks for that boss, I'll post pics later today. Also, should I replace anything else in the area since it'll be taken apart? Besides a coolant flush.

I'd agree with the other post on coolant elbows. If that is indeed the problem, and it's a common one. The good news is it's no big deal to replace them. Take the alternator off and you can see both of em. Undo the alternator bracket that the alt sits in and they pull out.
They just age and crack over time. I've only ever replace with the original style plastic ones myself but the metal replacements are available and should last til the cows come home.
a pair of plastic elbows shouldn't cost but like 10$ any chain parts store carries them, get a jug of antifreeze cause you will loose more when pulling the alt bracket off will be all you need. 30 minutes of your time and she be good as new.

You guys are legends. I haven't repaired it yet due to work but I have parts waiting for me. FYI autozone carries aluminum elbows for 11.99.

I have another issue that's not as crucial but will become more important when the temps get to 100. My ac or heater doesn't work. The compressor comes on and I can feel a slight cool breeze. However it's not very strong no matter what setting I put it on. Blend door? Does it have a hepa filter somewhere?
