Default 2004 blower takes time to come on.

Something strange has been happening the last few weeks and it's random, not all the time. When I start the car with the blower on high and ac on, I don't get any air blowing for at least a minute, until I drive down my street a little bit then it starts blowing strong. It also blows in all the lower positions once it "warms up". Does this sound like the blower relay? Never heard of taking a little time then working completely, usually with relays it either works or it don't.

I have seen where the resistor has gotten wet from a loose seal on the cabin air filter. You can swap out the relay with another and try that or take out the resistor and look at it for damage. Good luck Dave

This may be a long shot..

Some long while back I had a car with a vacuum leak that caused an issue like this...

Thanks for the replys, it has been fine the past few weeks since the warm weather came, come to think of it it has not happened in a while, so might have been when I had a large evap leak, if that coincided with the slow fan then the vacuum leak would be a winner. Guess I will just have to wait and see if it happens again...

Hi Jeff, good idea, but I already did the later style cover for the cabin air filter with the Grand Prix piece so eliminated that possibility...
