Default 2001 coolant leak

Are these prone to leak at certain areas? I cannot find the leak from the life of me. I've visually inspected quite a bit. I have replaced the lower radiator hose. It leaks from the passenger front side of the car.

Any help would be great.

From my understanding this is/has been quite common with the 3.4L...

Yes it is quite common for the intake to leak. There is an updated lower intake gasket designed to prevent this condition. You can tell the difference from the 2 by the color of the embedded gasket. The original one is orange. The updated one is teal.

Yes they do tend to leak at the corners. Look down below the intake at all 4 corners. Also check to see if the oil looks milky and the coolant as well.

At least you caught it before it got worse!!

Hey NYCRISS, what is the story behind the factory applied leak tabs being used on these engines?

I am still pulling black goo from my cooling system. I am kind of worried that it may cause problems down the road...
