Default 2000 Monte Carlo SS 3.8

Ac nor heater worked since I've had my MC but after maybe 20mins or so of driving it gets hot inside the car as if I have the heat on, I know its hot in Florida but my car gets usually hot inside after driving it awhile and its very strange. Also I have a problem when it rains or after the rain has stopped, I have water on my floor in back which also has me baffled because nothing else is wet except the floor on the car, any opinions??

Does the fan turn on? I had this issue before, and I replaced both the blower motor and blower motor resistor and my system came back to life.

As for the heat, I've noticed on my car too that if I drive without turning the blower motor on at all and leaving the entire A/C and heater system off, it gets hot in the car. Not sure if that's normal or not. Maybe someone else knows. It feels as if hot air is slowly seeping through the vents.

I would link you to this fix: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/fw...lem-fix-26663/

But all the images are broken. Hopefully Chibi can fix them.

You hit the nail on the head about the heating as if hot air is slowly seeping out the vents into the car, exactly what feels like is happening. My blower doesn't work at all, it used to come on once u turn it to 5 but now it does nothing, how much did you pay for blower motor and the blower resistor?

Ive noticed the heat thing also.......prolly trapped from the rear exhaust header,,,,, there are several ways for water to get into the doors also and leak inside the car,,,,and as mentioned, the cowl deflector is a must have .

Would love to know if someone knows how to fix it. Haven't felt this on any other car but my MC.

Sounds like your blower motor resistor crapped out. I would start by replacing that first and seeing if it helps. If not, replace the blower motor itself too.

I paid about $40 for my blower motor resistor from 1aauto.com. I paid about $50 for my blower motor from Autozone. Installed both myself.. took 20-30 minutes.

Here's a video about the water (AKA-"cowl") deflector. The video shows a n Impala, but the technique and part are exactly the same for Monte Carlo's or Grand Prix's. The part is only $4.

Heat comes out of the vents no matter what.. Its just something with these cars.. Best thing to do if you cant stand it is turn the temp control to cool and keep it on the dash setting with the vents shut..
It also blows out harder when you have the windows open..
