Talking 1971 vintage monte carlo

I have a Vintage 1971 Monte Carlo I just obtained yesterday. It has 74,000 original miles. I've had a couple of these cars before but not like this one. Although it has original bench seat this car is Vintage!! I'll tell you what I mean. I bought this car at an auction and was suprised to find the COMPLETE Records on this car. This history starts with the complete order history of the vehicle with the original dealership back in march 1971. I was blown away to see the detailed two small note books that contained hand written complete history of every fill up complete with gallons/mileage/per gallon cost from first fill up to last entry 72,000 miles. This car is mint. I just cant believe the complete vehicle history including all dealer maintenance and shop maintenance from couple of other repair and oil change garages. Am I overreacting or is this pretty common to find such detailed purchase history as well as complete maintenance history perfectly preserved? This 1971 Monte Carlo is Copper color with black rag top and white interior all original and in great condition. Nothing is missing and everything works and she sounds and drives great. My question is does this sound standard or is this exceptional? Also does this increase the value of the car? The auction I bought it from was unaware of this history of the vehicle. Looking through all these records really gave me a since of re-living the life of this wonderful owner and this wonderful car. They really loved this car and took great measures to really take car of there investment. Am I on the right track? Any way I welcome your responses. My name is Tom and my email is airtimetom@gmail.com... Thanks, proud new owner of mint and vintage 1971 Monte Carlo...

I would have to say that is RARE in deed for a 42 year old car. Post up some pics when you can. I would also say that would play a part in the value of it. Details, details details. Congrats...

Welcome to the Forum, sounds like a very nice car. I've always liked the first gens; my Dad had a 1972 Monte Carlo for seventeen years. Post some pictures when you can!

Thanks for the responses, I will for sure be sending out some pics in just a few days. It just snowed here in Tennessee and don't want to get it out in this stuff. So I just started it up and sat in it!!! I can't believe how great it runs.... Thanks again to all..
