Wink 10w40

Would it be okay to put 10w40 in if i am dripping a few drops of oil here and there. i was informed that if my engine had 123000 miles on it, it would be okay to put 10w40 in it 3800 engine.

The 10w40 will stay thicker so you should stop dripping or at least drip less, where are you dripping from? bad oil plug o-ring? I have a plug that I could send you

No, don't artificially increase the thickness of your oil to fix a problem.

i have to agree with mike on this one,

adding thicker oil is just a bandaid for the problen that could just get worse,
