Default 05 LS Speedometer Problem

Hello all,
I have a little problem with the Monte as said in the subject line it is an 05 LS. I have had it for less than an year.
Ok so here is the problem. I was drivin at about 60MPH for about 45min.
when I noticed that my Speedometer was saying 45MPH I knew I wasn't going 45. So Ikept an eye on it and it just kept going down until it reached zero and after that it fell under zero and stayed there.
Now after Igot home I shut the car off for a bit then turned it on and I still had that problem. Went online see if I can find anything but no luck. Good for me the problem somehow went away afterthe car sat in the driveway over night. BUT now when I drive when slowing down the speedometer sort of shakes up and down. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Also is there a Auto Manual for the 05 monte? like the Hanes books or similar? I lookedat Haynes web site and they only have 01 monte manual I know that is the same generation but would this book work with the 05 monte.
Thank you for your help.

How many miles do you have on it? Still under warranty?

Could be a bad gauge cluster.

Not unless you have an extension to the 36K.... Damn, that is a ton of miles for an 05'.....

There are only two things that I know of that could be causing the problem, the gauge cluster or PCM....

Have you pulled any codes on it yet? If not I would just to see what is stored in the system.

It may give us a little more info to go on.

Also, did you pull a CARFAX on it before you purchased it? If not, the $$$ may be worth a look into it's past.

Did your CARFAX show that the car has been in the PA area before you purchased it? Any history in other states?

It could also be a bad VSS but I would suspect the cluster. You will need to have it looked at.
