Well A little dedication to the Memory or butch049 the Carshow we missed
Well Back in 2015 butch49 wanted me to meet up at a Carshow in Nebraska or Kansas.
I always worked as a Roads inspector out of State and just never made it back home for any shows.
Then when I did it was raining hard all the way to the one I was going to attend in he suggested I try again next year. So I never went and come to find out he passed away that next year. He always talked about his job at O'Rieleys Auto parts and i finally called the one in Concordia, Ks and they told me he had passed on.
So this weekend I went to one of the Carshows he attended in Nebraska at Western, NE about 287 population. I did manage to get a Trophy for my trip. It says runner up I was in the same class as the Blue Mustang I never get much credit for the 197K that is on my car verses the Mustang that is probably 10 years newer than mine.
on a side note: ( when I first joined the Forum there was some discussion about why I posted a photo of Dale Earnhardt on my signature. He made the comment I have met Driver number 3 and he looks exactly like Dale E. Fun stuff. Anyway dedicate the Trophy to butch49 an his Monte he called the heartbeat.
That is pretty cool that you made it to this show, even though Butch is no longer with us. He is one of a few members sadly lost
I remember he would post on here that a Carshow was coming up and I could be there. But I was always out of State for the work.
I am thinking that the first time he saw me was in a small town on the NE/KS border that was doing there 150th celebration and they asked me to be there for that to do my Dale photo opp thing.
We raised 500.00 in a short time for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in this area. All free will donation stuff.
The Governor showed up too and I knew him from several precious events, he was an Eagle Scout and so was my son. I was surprised he remembered me from the Boy Scout thing. At that time Butch has an El Camino and I had told him how nice It looked.
