I would love to go down with the 84 if it is a non-points racing weekend but they don't have the schedule up yet!! Hopefully I will know soon.

Tadcaster 01-20-2015 06:11 PM

I'd like to add that for an additional fee they are also touring the Corvette factory and Corvette Museum

I dont believe STUMPMI is going unless he can get his Monte Fixed on time

I WILL be going

mcweet 01-20-2015 06:15 PM

if only we could go play at the corvette track.

06mistreSS 01-20-2015 06:32 PM

Not one-hundred percent sure though, honestly, right now I'm leaning more toward going.

I'm bummed I wasn't able to design the logo for this year's Nationals. Had started but got extremely busy so John took care of it again. We'll see about next year's.

Tadcaster 01-21-2015 09:07 AM

Registered at hotel Car registration to go out tomorrow's mail

DON'T FORGET YOU WILL NEED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER to have your car on the show field !!!

STUMPMI 01-21-2015 12:38 PM

Wanted to get it to the collision shop today.
But the snow ruined that idea.

David, I sure hope you can go my friend

06mistreSS 01-24-2015 11:54 AM

I have to say, if I do go, I am really looking forward to the National Corvette Museum and seeing the sinkhole cars in person which, speaking of this, there's some important news to mention:

- GM and Chevrolet finished restoration of the 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil" in Michigan and unveiled it on Nov 4, 2014 in Las Vegas at SEMA. It is now back on display at the Corvette Museum.
- GM has agreed to handle restoration of the 1 Millionth which began Nov 2014 and is expected to take 6 months. It is the worst damaged of the salvageable cars.
- GM says the black 1962 is too old for them to properly handle a restoration of so they will hand pick a restoration specialist team to do that one.
- The other 5 cars (1984 PPG Pace Car, 1993 40th Anniversary, 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06, 2009 1.5 Millionth, 1993 ZR-1 Spyder) are too wrecked to be restored so they are on permanent display as is at the Corvette Museum.
- Work to repair the sinkhole itself began Nov 10, 2014 and is expected to take 8 months. The Museum considered leaving the hole but ultimately decided to have it filled and repaired.

So, those of us attending should be able to see quite a bit of this.

Mels SS 01-26-2015 07:50 AM

Cant wait to meet you guys there.

Tadcaster 01-26-2015 08:39 AM

All registered for the show and hotel. Ronda and I will be there some time Thursday prob right around check in time. We are stopping in Nashville IN. for a night on the way down

P343 01-26-2015 08:47 AM

Tadd:
You and Ronda come on down to Muncie Wednesday night and do some test and tune racing!!! LOL
I am still trying to see if I can make the nationals happen for me this year with the 84.

AwesomeSS 01-26-2015 09:27 PM

I'm thinking of going but if I do go I won't be driving the Monte, I will be driving the Stang. Want to help my friend Dennis and his 87 Aerocoupe win best of show. My Monte will never win best of show saddly because historically speaking a driven car never wins best of show.

Probably true Amy, but still going to give it my best shot. Would be good to see your Stang in person.

P343 01-27-2015 07:34 AM

Working on figuring it out. Have to get around several obstacles to make it happen :)

I talked with Dennis a little bit last year. Beautiful car. His and Dave's silver 87 Aerocoupe that was right next to his.

Barbara, just make sure if you decide to go and participate that you take care of everything and in time; membership and show registration are the big two.

P343 01-27-2015 05:30 PM

Matt:
I have both of those apps saved on my computer. :) And have the deadlines marked on the calendar. Would love to meet all of you so I am really trying to make this happen!!

Mels SS 01-28-2015 07:54 AM

That would be awesome.

P343 01-28-2015 09:05 AM

Sounds like a good time!!

Mels SS 01-29-2015 07:09 AM

Were going to have an awesome time with good friend.

06mistreSS 03-27-2015 06:40 PM

Unfortunately I have decided I'm not attending this year's Nationals guys. Thought about it long and hard but I've got a lot happening this spring/summer and would rather put the expenses of a long trip toward other things. Have fun guys! I'll be looking forward to hearing about it and seeing pictures.

Hoping for Ohio in 2016!

P343 05-05-2015 11:53 AM

Just bumping this for those who may not have seen it.
I am getting a bit closer to making this happen but it is not 100% yet and time is getting short...LOL

Mels SS 05-06-2015 08:21 AM

That would be great. I borrowed a trailer so we're set. Can't wait

P343 05-06-2015 08:32 AM

I am thinking of borrowing a truck and a tow dolly. But I will drive the the 84 the whole way there and back if I have to.
So I guess I need to add my name to the list of attendees!!!
LOL now the work ramps up to make it as show ready as it can be by then!!!

Mels SS 05-07-2015 07:19 AM

Thats Awesome cant wait to meet you Barbara and Tadd. I hope some more will attend.

P343 05-07-2015 08:14 AM

At this point I believe I am going to have to bring the 2002 Monte (if I am even able to make it now) Last night I believe my 84 completely jumped timing and I will probably have to do the entire timing chain/sprocket replacement and I was cutting it close on funds for the Nationals to begin with. ARGHHH

Mels SS 05-07-2015 10:00 AM

Sorry to here that Barbara hope you can make it one way.

drivernumber3 05-07-2015 10:31 AM

Question on the Nationals ?????

Correct me if I am wrong but this is put on by the National Monte Carlo club of America, and if you want to participate don't you have to be a member?
I thought that the annual dues are $30 or more a year? Seem like a neat club to belong to.
My problem has always been getting there, my wife hates car shows so I always go it alone, around here.:cool:

P343 05-07-2015 10:39 AM

I am really hoping I have some money left and time to get my registration submitted by the final deadline.
If the boss would come off some money for a bonus, I would be golden...LOL
drivernumber3-Yes, membership is 35 dollars then you have the show entry fee. Then the cost of a room...I would probably just sleep in the car...LOL

Kind of funny, unless there are no chain hotels around I have a Platinum member with 3 so I can usually get a free one if they honor it. Sometimes if there is a race they won't.:)

LOL, how ironic that your wife hates car shows and Dale used to be your twin.

My girlfriend does not go to car shows any longer either. She would rather be out doing something than walking around looking at cars, I totally understand, some are quite boring and I question what I'm doing at them myself. :nono:

I enjoy going and not always have I been able to take the Monte Carlo. She can't walk as far as I can she had Polio as a child. Then when you throw in the mix of me getting stopped and asked " Hey did anyone ever tell you look like ............" and she knows that is at the least a 20 minute conversation.:cool: But I have fun at them. I take a bunch of photo's once I get in the mode to actually do Car shows I should be pretty savvy on how to make a good impression for a display.
But if I went to this Kentucky event I would need to bring the outfit because everyone will want to take a Photo.:wtf::cool: Maybe someday I can make that happen.

That would be kool, keep me posted on the event and I will try my best to make it. Or even if there is something in Kansas that I can make if I have enough notice I can possibly do that too.
