The car had been sitting for awhile and of course battery died. Went and replaced battery now the vehicle won't start or shift out of park. I figure it has something to do with it's security. Everything acts fine but when you turn the key to start it doesn't do anything. Anyone know how to get it going?

 

After replacing the battery, a security system issue might be preventing your car from starting and shifting out of park. Try resetting the system by disconnecting the battery for 15 mins, then reconnecting and doing a key relearn: turn key to "On" for 10-15 mins, then start. If it persists, consult a mechanic.

Is the replaced battery brand new?
