Does anyone know the wattage of the stock sound system in the 2007 Monte Carlo LS? ... I'm curious considering I want to buy a amp and a possible speaker box, but I don't think the head unit and stock speakers are enough for what I demand ...

I would like to tell you that the dealer should have ALL of that information, not to mention that the sticker that was on the window when you purchased it will list what wattage the system is.

I think it depends on if you have the upgraded sound system or not.... look in your trunk.. under neath the deck lid if there's an amp there you have the upgraded system, if not you don't. I think the upgraded system was 200 watts? or 140 watts... something like that... hard to find that material anymore

Ahh, here it is.. .I think the regular sound system is 140 watts. and the upgraded premium system as copied directly off of chevrolet.com:

Premium sound system
with eight speakers and 200-watt amplifier

I'll concur on the 140 Watts. Mine is the upgraded 200, but I remember the 140 as the standard.

Thank you for the input! I looked and looked.. but must have been looking in the wrong place.. oh, and from what I understand the premium system means one piece two voice coil speakers in the same locations... just have the extra tweeter for the highs.
