read the owners manual and it will tell how to reset them without the factory deck. and yes you can hook up subs with the factory deck . its just a matter of preference i had mine hooked up like that but wanted better SQ so what are you wanting to do?

I had an 03 LS with the factory amp. Best buy hooked up a sub for like 130 bucks with a Line output converter. Quality was pretty good, but it did require a modification to the stock wiring harness. I had no complaints, worked fine for ages. My new 06 3LT has a very similar Line output converter, except it plugs in line with the stock radio, meaning no cutting wires. You can pick them up at http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/listallaoem.asp Use The Better Source. I ordered it from them, was a simple plug and play. Living here in Iowa their Chicago location got it to me in like two days. http://www.thebettersource.com/

I should note, that with mine the wire they provide for the 'Remote' wire source for the amp didn't work right. It had power all the time, which would leave your amp powered up constantly, draining the battery quick. I ended up just taking signal from the ignition.

You can hook up a system to your stock its what i did for now. all you need to get is a high to low converter and it will have RCA outs on it and just wire it up to your rear speakers. ill get the name of the converter if you need it, i just dont have the name right now, let me know if u need more info.
