Default Speaker Opinions

I'm replacing my front speakers, and I've narrowed it down to two options: Alpine or Rockford Fosgate.

Anyone have anything particularly good or bad to say about either brand?

Price for price I would go with Alpine.. They have the history and really havnt changed what has made them so "iconic" I guess you could say..

New"ish" rockford stuff isnt all that great. I dont have anything bad to say about it and its surely quality stuff but newer rockford isnt as good as older rockford..

When I think of "Rockford Fosgate" I think of a 16 year old in a civic with a sub box rolling around in his trunk XD

However, I do have older rockfords in both my cars..

Well after reading a number of reviews I actually ended up with the Rockford Fosgate speakers for my front and rear speakers. Bought the component ones with separate tweeter dome and crossovers.

I think they sound okay to my ears. Used to have Massive Audio speakers, but melted the crossovers and damaged the speakers.
