Default something wrong with my subs

this is just a general sound system question. every once in a while either randomly or when i hit a decent sized bump my subs give off this weird pulsating noise for anywhere from a couple of seconds to longer. has this happened to anyone else? i have 2 1800 watt boss outkast subs and a 2600 watt wolfengang amp. does anyone know what the problem could be

First thing that comes to mind is your amp. This is what one of my older amps did when it was toast, except that on mine it was constant. Volfenhag is pretty low quality too, so maybe borrow an amp from a friend for a while and see if the problem goes away. (Boss is pretty crappy too, consider upgrading your whole sub system lol)

Since it happens on bumps, it couldn't hurt to check all of your connections to make sure they're tight. If you can wiggle the connection at all, it's too loose.

It's also possible that it's a problem with the head unit.

Do you have a budget in mind? What do you want from your system? Loud, booming bass like for rap music, or something less pronounced for rock, etc? If you're happy with what your system does for you now, I'd say track down your problem first and then decide whether or not you want to upgrade.

There's lots of options for good quality gear. What's best for you depends on your specific setup.

I listen to rap most of the time so I want loud base. As for budget I want to be under 800

alpine or rockford fosgate if your looking at that price range

one thing that comes to mind for me is it could possibly be part of the bass note on the song, i have similar things happening on mine but my whole system is pretty much brand new so i know its not the amp going out or something, id check to see if its just on certain songs

If you want monster bass and what to impress your friends by doing it with subs they've never heard of, look at these.

Get one 15" or 18" of either sub and put it in the right ported enclosure and you'd have a slamming system. I brought you in under budget so you can spend a little more to have a proper custom enclosure built for you. Or save the money and build your own.
