hey guys, i got some rattling, from subs, which is obviously going to happen but any ideas for reducing it?

behind both of the side rear windows it seems to rattle right where the plastic pieces meet

and in the trunk, if you look behind the carpet on the passenger side theres a vent thing that also rattles, does anyone know what the vent is there for/what it does? and what i can do to stop making it rattle.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

my bass is at 0 for the sub, so right in the middle/no gain, do you know what the vent thing is tho?

 

and by the way, it does it when i have my stereo turned up to 8 out of 30, and just gets louder as i turn it up to where i can always hear it

Dynomat or similar is GREAT stuff! I have it everywhere in my trunk.
I agree about turning the bass down You have a filter out of whack, or maybe the gain is just too high. I run mine at about -4db MAX, and usually -7db, and -10 or -11db when the wife is in the car. It's just not cool to have your car rattling, and IMO, too much bass sounds like crap anyway.
The flap is a vent for the air circulation. I'm assuming you've had your rear speakers out. You'll notice there is air passages that are on the side of the housings. Air passes thru the rear speakers and out thru the trunk. Close it off and slam the door, and you can feel the pressure change in your ears.

 

Just laying down deadener mat isn't going to stop rattling of interior panels, it'll just deaden whatever sheet metal you apply it to. The rattling sound obviously comes from two things hitting each other, so deadener's not gonna fix that. What you need is a foam to put between the two things rattling to stop them from touching. Second Skin actually makes a product for this called Rattle Pad, but it'd probably be cheaper just to find some foam at Wal Mart.

P.S. This is a never ending project. Every time you think you've tracked down and stopped the last rattle, you're wrong. lol

 

dbl, totally agree with you on the last statement lol, is there a way to remove the stuff in the vent to stop the rattling, and im gonna put double sided tape in the crack where the plastics meet to see how that works
