question about seats

the seats that i have feel like they are hard as heck and uncomfortable on going on drives. i have gotten some complants from the misses about how uncomfortable the passenger seat is. the question is can the 6th gen wich is a little more comfortable fit in the 7th or do i have to use the seats out of the impala? i dont know if the rear seat will fit. i havent gon to a apolsrtery place yet to see if they can replace the foam in iot to some thing else i like the intereor out of the 6th gen to be honest. but i dont know if the 07 impalla seats fit the montecarlo

The 7th gen Impala fronts will work (the rears would too, but they wouldn't fold down). They're the same seats. You could use seats out of a 6th gen, they're a little different in style (as mentioned) but the same size. Originally when I wanted to swap to leather I was going to pop some out of a 7th gen because the only 6th gen leathers I could find were ebony.

I don't know if the harness is different between 6 and 7th gens. If the connector is different power/heat won't work unless you find a way to splice them directly.

i LOVE my seats, i know what you mean about the 7th gens being hard as a rock, i drove an official 2006 SS pace car and the seats looked all sorts of cool, but they about broke my back because i was expecting them to be as soft as my 2003's... That car friggen moved though, dyno tuned on light 20"s with no governor, the thing was a blast.

I haven't sat in a 7th gen before.

In relation to the 6th gen seats, I believe they changed the foam fillings to better material in 2003 I believe, so the 00-02 seats weren't as comfortable as the 03-05 seats.

my buddy has a 2000 and i sat in his, i noticed it, and attributed it to that car having 100k less miles than mine... and i modded mine a little to make them deeper buckets and it seemed to make them a little softer, and it gave them a lot better side support

I have a 6th gen and I put 7th gen leather seats in my 2004 Monte LS. The front and rear uses the same mounting points so no issues there. The seat belt buckles are different so you have to keep your seat buckles. The seat belt buckles just bot on and are easy to swap out. Also the wiring harnesses are different so you have to find a wiring diagram to get power to the seats. I went to 7th gen that have air bags on the upper seat sides and I did not connect them.

I find my 6th Gen seats comfortable, however, I keep almost sliding out of them against the door when I pull some G's around a corner... The 7th Gen seats are more form fitted and help keep you put...:)
