did you ever end up replacing the battery terminals with the replacement GM ones or even the extended bolts made for gm side mount batteries?

He's been banned bro, but looking back at the thread it shows he used XScorpion battery terminals on the top posts with the stock terminals and connections on the side posts. I don't know where he got that battery from but that's pretty sweet that it has two sets of terminals like that. Makes things alot easier.

I didn't say I didn't know who made the battery. You're entitled to your opinion but I personally don't see anything wrong with his setup/build/knowledge or his notching of the rubber boot 1/4" to give the needed clearance.

oh lol. i was implying you could buy it from there, but a quick google search and then hitting the shopping link should show you the cheapest prices on the internet. i think there are about 4-5 companies that make dry batteries. i dont mean optima either, they make the worst batteries available for car audio.

im just kinda blunt, sorry if i came off as being mean or an ***.

however, i dont see why you would cut the boot instead of just ordering a 15 dollar battery terminal or a 6 dollar double bolt instead. it just seems to me that it would cause more problems than solve them to do that.

i just wish there were a replacement battery terminal for gm side post batteries that offer two 0 gauge and two 8 gauge instead of the ones offered that offer one 0 gauge, one 4 gauge, and two 8 gauge..

0 gauge - stereo system
0 gauge - alternator
8 gauges - wherever those other two smaller wires go, im guessing the fusebox on the left side of the engine bay and the fuse box in the car?

to me the proper way to run a system is:
a) 0 gauge from battery to fuse block within 18" of wire
b) fuse block to fused distribution block - 1 - 0 gauge in and 4 - 4 gauge out with converter rings if you want to use 8 gauge wire
c) two foot 0 gauge ground wire from a sanded ground terminal, bolted, not screwed to the vehicle frame ran to a an identical fused distribution block
d) 14 awg accessory wire ran to a busbar
e) all device remote wires come from the busbar amd run through a relay

thats just a quick synopsis, but a good wire run for a stereo should take a good 4 hours.

Hmm, make a tiny, unnoticeable notch in the boot (free) or buy a $6 bolt or $15 battery terminal? What kind of problems could you imagine making a tiny notch in the boot cause? I wish that guy was here to chime in on this. I'm trying to understand your logic but it's lacking, well, logic!

By your logic, he would have been forced to buy a whole new car since his deck wouldn't fit without him modifying the dash. I guess we'll just agree to disagree

Yes, please do.

People like doing things differently. I've seen it done both ways. Both ways are acceptable really. It's more of a personal preference.
