Admittedly, I am not a big fan of red, and I'll throw in that the red shifter never impressed me on the '00 Pace Car (I prefer the black leather shifter myself). Now I say that and look how many red pieces I put on a BLUE Monte lol (I love red as an accent color for various things).

This looks like it really came out NICE so far! Had no idea the speaker deck, carpet and headliner were going to end up red (I thought you were going black with those). And keeping the floor mats black, great idea (shields from red over dose).

Nice work, just sad to see it done in time for winter. :(

drivernumber3 10-19-2014 08:09 PM

Wow!!!!!!!

I am going to steal a phase from Velocity " You killed it"
This is now a "Bitchin Ride".:congrats:
Out standing job! You need to share how and what you used on the rear deck and the Head liner.
I love it!!!:thumbsup::congrats:
Every Monte owner would be proud to own this ride. :) Now your going to need to build a bid trophy cabinet, you will be getting a bunch of awards.:congrats:

el pachuco 10-19-2014 09:36 PM

Awesome work. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

crazyzach722 10-19-2014 11:13 PM

It looks really amazing. Defiantly one of the best looking interiors of a monte carlo or really any car I have seen.

UPDATE:
A couple pics of more progress. Just need to put in the red shift knob, red/black steering wheel, console lid, custom gauge cluster and a couple more things I will be doing to the door panels. Was going to take her out earlier today for the first time in a long time but before had chance to leave driveway, main brake line blew apart, so now have to wait to get that fixed, ugggggg. Also don't forget to check out the album link in the first post in this thread to see more pics. Sorry for bad quality pics.

Montelicious 10-26-2014 08:45 AM

However you have triggered/inspired something in me for sure.

My father gave me his 1958 Impala... IT 2 was two tone...
I am seriously considering doing a black/white theme...
Inside and out!

Nice work! very well done!
Thanks for the update...
Looking forward to the finished Pics!:)

ZIPPY02 10-26-2014 09:44 AM

Well now that had to be such an enormous task, a true labor of love on your already award winning Monte Carlo. What has this taken, most of your summer and fall? I remember reading how the seats were exceedingly in need of cleaning and such. You have done a remarkable job with your Monte's interior makeover. Comes across as a feisty interior and really gives your car a pepped up presentation. Isn't your exterior silver racing stripes themselves bordered with red striping? I'm looking for a tie-in, continuity, you have an extremely exquisite exceptionally nice Monte Carlo SS for yourself!

steveinri 10-26-2014 06:45 PM

Wow! That came out GREAT!
On the subject of brakes, I put new rotors and pads on the SS a couple of weeks ago. So I back out of the garage and the brake line near the fuel filter popped. Replaced both lines for good measure.

owens91 10-26-2014 08:50 PM

yup that is one hot ride indeed the colors go well together and are nice and crisp. hope you get the rose up soon

crazyzach722 10-27-2014 07:59 AM

That just looks amazing.

Thanks everyone! Woohoo!!! Steering wheel and shift knob are in!!! Custom interior finally done except for custom gauge cluster and one other thing. Oh yeah, console lid needs to be put on also, lol.
(Sorry for sideways pic, it is vertical till I load it, maybe an admin can fix it)
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/at...1&d=1415476599

The_Maniac 11-08-2014 06:11 PM

Looks good. I like the painted bezels for the steering wheel radio controls.

BTW - The staff does not have a way to fix the sideways pics. I assume they were taken on a phone and possibly uploaded from a phone? If so, the problem is this is how the pic was taken. While you are doing things on your phone, the phone may rotate and show it the way you want but not the way it was taken.

Perhaps there is an app for your phone can rotate it and you can re-upload it or transfer it to your PC and rotate it on your computer and re-upload.

Ok, I need the tutorial on how you did the steering wheel and also how you died the carpet and the headliner, what did you use for working on it. How difficult was it for the steering wheel and the shifter handle as those are leather, I believe??
:congrats:

They are red leather but were in very bad shape, I restored them. Here is another shot.
