Default Problem with the turn signals on a 2003

I have an intermittent turn signal problem on a 2003. When using my turn signals, they all of a sudden stop working. To get them to work again I have stop shut off the car or while driving they will eventually start working again. It is very intermittent. It can go for weeks before the symptom happens again.

I have the same problem with mine. I changed out one of my rear turn signals because it burnt out and that kind of solved the problem even though they still shut off at random times at least once a month

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one with is problem. Several months ago it was happening quit often. Just the other day for the first time in 2 or 3 months it happened again. As the turn signal was blinking they just stopped working. After 2 or 3 miles they started working again.

But, maybe u are on to something, by changing the burn out bulb. I'm going to take them both out clean and re-set them, maybe they are not making a proper connection.

Press your hazard button on and off - the hazard switch actually controls the blinkers and it is known to fail, one time it was stuck in just a tiny bit and I couldn't get turn signals.

I did confirm that by pushing in on the 4 ways switch I was able to creat the turn signals from working.
Had my car in for inspection to day, and had the switch replaced and tested. Looks like the switch solved the turn signal problem.

my 98 monte has the same problem it is the dimmer switch its a 50 dollar part the bad part is u have to take off the steering wheel to get to it. have someone press on the brakes and wiggle the dimmer switch you brakes should work if so thats your problem. mine only dont work when my signal is turning left otherwise they work fine

The 5th gens ('95-'99) are vastly different from the 6th gens ('00-'05). Our turn signals are controlled by our hazard relay.

Your suggestion would be applicable to another 5th gen, though.
