Default Pioneer rear view camera

Just got mine in the mail today that will plug in to my pioneer 4300 dvd headunit. My question is, what wire from the headunit is the wire that I would use to tap into a reverse signal wire? Also to anyone who has this setup, What reverse signal wire did you tap into?

If you used the reverse light for power the camera is only on when the car is in reverse. This is normal if the camera is only being used as a reverse cam but you can't except it to work any other time unless you power it with accessory power.
When you switch the screen manually you are getting whatever the camera is putting out whether it is on or off.If you run that same reverse light power up to the deck there is an input just for backup cam activation that will automatically switch the screen to the cam avoiding the whole black screen.

Hope this will help to view camera.

Sounds like one would want the camera to then not hook up to the reverse light only. So you can actually use it to view out the rear when your at say a stop light and a bad *** car or cute girl rolls up behind you, and one needs to scruntinize who's on their rear. Nice I like. I have the Pioneer AVH P4000, but did not opt for a camera, sometimes wish I did, do the lenses get pretty dirty from road grime and always need wiped down?? That was my thinking and so never did it.

I did the install and tapped into my reverse positive. You can actually view the camera anytime you want. You tap on source and touch the rear camera icon and it will pop right up. Even if your driving, which is pretty neat. The camera stays pretty clean. However it is hard to get used to because its such an extreme wide angle that things pop up quick when you think you have tons of space behind you. I reckon that's why they want you to tilt the camera til you can see your bumper along the bottom of the screen. If you own this pioneer deck, I highly recommend the upgrade. Its cool to see it pop on when you shift into reverse.

the wire from a pioneer deck will be a light green I beolieve but don't quote me on that but it will be obviouse which one you need to use, their should only be a few extra wires, one being for a multi volt wire for your streering wheel controls, it should have a sticker on the wire that says reverse wire. it'll also be very long, as they intended for you to wire it into your dashs reverse wire, but most people just run a wire from the trunk to the front off the revese light. i suggest hooking up a relay, but not needed.

you people are idiots, none of you answered the mans questions even in a round about way.

Thanks for your reply walking. I asked the question before I started the project. Since I had no answers, I decided to figure it out on my own. After I pulled the headunit out, I noticed the wire labeled "rear camera"(DERP). Its actually indigo in color. The green wire is for the ebrake switch for dvd playback.
