The Sub handles 4000RMS easily. Just my one amp at 1 ohm is only 2000RMS.. I have it at 2 ohm for the moment so its at all but 1500RMS now.. I need to change the wiring on the coils. It will technically be at .5 ohm.

How did you figure that it's putting out 1500 watts now? Did you use a clamp meter and use the formula to calculate it? Or are you just saying that based on the ohm load you have the sub wired to that that's what the output is?

So many other factors come in to play like voltage, gain setting, volume, box rise, etc., do you even have an idea what your box rise is? What's your voltage drop at max volume while playing a test tone equal to your box tuning freq? I'm sure those amps are rated at 14.4v, and I know your voltage drops alot lower than that when you're bangin' it so as goes your voltage so does your power output. You really should find out your box rise too because just because you wire your sub to .5 ohm, if your box rise is 2.5 ohms then that's the actual load your amp will be seeing so instead of you getting the 4k power you hope to get, you'd be getting closer to the rated power @ 2 ohms.

Nother thing to consider is getting a O-scope to set the gain on your amp that way you can set it to right before clipping because that too is how they're measured/rated during testing. Especially with as much power as you're running now and plan on running in the future, it would be a worthy investment because at those power levels things that people with 500 watt systems overlook and take for granted can be component killers for someone running your kind of power. Just my .02

The amp states it playes 1300 at 2 ohm. The box was custom built specifically for this sub at 33hz in .5 ohm.

Yep, it'll do 1300 @ 2ohm but @ 14.4volts. If your voltage is dropping to high 12's when the bass hits then you'd be getting significantly less power. Not to mention that your amp isn't 100% efficient, more like 85%, so before you even calculate for voltage drop you take 15% of 1300 off the top. But then again, efficiency is rated at 14.4volts too so it's even less efficient with lower voltage. And when you go to .5ohm, you're gonna be looking at about 60-70% efficiency if you can maintain a solid 14.4volts.

Either way it goes, that sub is going to be getting alot of power and is gonna love it!

Just my opinion, going a bit overboard.

No real amp has it's power rated at 100% efficiency seeing NO amp is 100% efficient.

US Amps, amps are power hungry and not been know to be 85% efficient real world stats but will do the rated power it states, that model he has did do a lil over rated specs, according to a friend of mine who ran 4 in his old build, and many other owners... So he'll be just fine even if he drops into the high 12's voltage, he still should get around 1k rms,

You're correct. I misunderstood how these things were rated, nice catch

Yeah, those amps are beastly. I remember when they were in their hayday back in the early to mid 90's, I've had a jones for them ever since.

My point was to point out the various ways the output power will be less than rated, but all he has to do is hook up a clamp meter and let her rip and he'll see that he's getting far less power from his current setup than he thinks. But never the less, from that video he posted it seems like it bangs nicely. I can only imagine how it's gonna sound once he gets his other amp and builds up his electrical to feed those beats, I feel sorry for his eardrums just thinking about it

Ive finnally went a just purchased a new Head Unit. The Kenwood DNX9960.

Touch Screen 6.95" with DVD, CD Player
It has built in NAV in 3D with traffic monitor as well.
Front, Rear, Sub, Center 5V RCAs
13 Band EQ
Built in Bluetooth with microphone, plays call though car speakers.
And Ipod control with Video as well.
Here is a link.. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...DNX-9960-.html

I also picked up this thing as well. From RE Audio. It will allow me to control my subs input so I can turn them down while keeping the mids and highs up so the subs dont have to be blaring all the time. RE Audio VLS-1
Here is a link http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...dio+VLS-1.html

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 and the Second US AMPS amp along with the 2 kinetic batteries are being purchased a few weeks.
