That was my thought on buying a pre boxed sub. For me it takes the guess work of getting the right box for the sub. I'd really rather not go to an audio shop. Im not specifially looking for a shallow mount either. If theres a regular boxed sub that works for me too. This RF sub i keep seeing pop up on crutch field. Looks decent. Main thing is i dont need a sub to rattle the whole neighborhood. I just want one to give me extra depth and thump. I should know better, we have a pontiac here with a pioneer system with a shallow mount sub and it doesn't make a ton of thump.

Thinking about a rockford fosgate sub, one of these. They have various sizes and power levels. Thoughts?

My opinion....way overpriced! The sub is like $140 so basically they're charging you $160 for the box

If you would build you own box you could walk away with that sub and a custom ported box for under $200. It's not nearly as hard as you think. Even the design of the box is easy to do, let me know if you need one and I can hit up my boy to do one up for you. You could then buy a sheet of mdf for like $30 and have Home Depot make the cuts for you then all you gotta do is glue and screw. Piece of cake!
