Default Need help removing Stereo 2006 LT

I have a 2006 LT & I want to remove the stereo so I can hook up an amp. The cover that surrounds the stereo will not come off is there a trick? Also I believe the remote wire for amp & antenna is pink does anyone know if this is correct?

it is very easy just pop off the trim ring around the cd player with a panel popper or some piece of sturdy thin metal.

take your time and GL im sure you can buy the trim piece if you break it lol

Thanks for the help, I can get under the plate at the bottom but it just will not pop off on the sides or top. Anyone know if the pink wire is the remote wire for amp?

Judging by the pic of the trim ring in that eBay link, it's just clips holding it in place. If you've got it loose at the bottom, then just work your way around to the top. Don't be afraid to use your man-hand with it, just use common sense on where to pull. Start at the bottom and work around till you feel the next clip and pop it loose, it takes some force to pop those clips out.
