My traction control wont turn on

Default My traction control wont turn on

I have a 2000 monte carlo ss and im not sure why but when i turn on the car. The traction control light comes on saying it is off. But when i hit the button, nothing happens?

You have what is most likely a bad wheel speed sensor (wheel bearing) or and trans output shaft speed sensor that has gone bad. No ABS light?

Definitely check the wiring to each speed sensor (rears too)

The abs light isnt on. Its just the trac light

Not a bad idea to spend the money and get the abs codes read with a scanner. Rarely is it anything but a bad bearing or wiring going to the bearing. But make sure you buy acdelco or timken replacement bearing if that's what the problem is. Those two are the best ones.
