right know they are in my old box that i had for my type S's i am not sure of the size but i dont want to get a new box because my summer project is going to be to build a fiberglass box with the two subs pointing at each other and then the amp in the middle in a clear box with red neons

Do you have an idea of what you're going to replace them with? Judging from the picture, they look like 15s(?). In building your new box, are you talking about making pod-boxes for each sub in the sides of the trunk? That would look pretty nice.

Also, how do you like your new 20s? I'm currently debating between 18s and 20s.

The subs are 12's and yes i am going to have a sub on each side faceing one another with the amp in the middle and then i was thinking about painting the boxes in a swirl of black and red then gove over them with clear coat so they look really nice ( i hope)

My 20's i love them when they are on.... I say on because of the stupid snow that is out side right know and all the salt that is on the roads
The ride is a littlerougher but not unbarable but they do slow down the car a bit but thats a price am willing to pay to have them on
I could not be happyer with them
And to me they dont look out of place like you see on some cars that just have huge rims on them

They looked bigger than 12s. That will look very nice if you have pods on each side. If you were willing to lose the spare, you could make a plexi amp rack in there that was flush to the floor with the neons.

I may be looking at a chrome/black combo rim. Did you upgrade your brakes/rotors/suspension when you added 20s?

I think that would look very nice and would save some trunk space. If you go ported, though, I think it may be hard to do so in side pods; not sure you would have enough space to port some 12s.

I've heard from some folks that it's a good idea to upgrade at least the brakes and rotors when going from stock 16s up to 20s.

yeh im doing the same this summer except im sticking with the speaker box wood instead of and fiberglass and im gunna use plexiglass and some diamond plating in the trunk....

im gunna go with 3 jl audio w3v2's and i currently have a hifonics zeuis amp ill prolly just get another one and put that under the plexiglass and keep my 5 channel where it is now on the back of the seat...

Any reason you're going with the W3s? Why not bump up to W6s or a couple W7s? Have you explored other sub options?
