how do they sound?
im going to be looking for something to replace the Alpines i have.
some how i have a hole in one from the RCA cabel rubbing threw it. so i figure it is a great time to look at two new ones instead of just the one LOL

I wanted better sound anyway. they sounded good dont get me wrong just not the sound quality i wanted for the car these could not take what the amo was putting to them and it is a smaller amp.
still sounded good just cant get the volume out of them i want they start to distort.
also want to do a set of rear deck speakers of some kind that can handel a bit more of the mid instead of a full range speaker. then i will mount a high with them just as a fill not so much as one i expect to hear up front real loud but more for the back pass. then me up front.

they sound great i had type s before (i just like alpine) they beat much harder the the other ones and the only time that they start to sound bad is if i have it so loud i cant even stand being in the car so they never sond bad at all and the amp thet i have running to them is a rockford fostgate P6002 with all fosgate wiring

yah i think the type r's say they'll easily take 1000wat rms power...and you can push them up to 1400rms without damaging them..i always loved those subs man, i'm jealous!! lol

but whenever someone gets subs in the town i'm in, if they're loud someone will like them more than someone else and decide they want to steel them...this town is really bad for that

Can't say much for Alpine mids/highs (little too bright for my taste), but they do make some solid subs. Do you have them ported or sealed? What are the box dimensions?

mine , it is a sealed box. and i dont remeber the size right off
but it is not a real big box. im sure it is not the right one for them as i put them in to a box i had instead of buying a box for them.
But they dont sound to bad just know they could or should sound better. but they are old and really need to be replaced also. figure when i do this i will replace them and also finish off the trunk the way i want also
