Question mp3 connection type help

hey guys, i need your help and opinions here. ok, so my parents wont let me change out the headunit because they think i will break something even tho ive done it like 10 times for friends. so my question is, what is the next best way to listen to an mp3 player through the stock stereo? i have a 2001 LS with the rear factory amp. im tired of the cassette adapter because ive tried 3 and they dont play sound out of both sides of the stereo no matter what. so im thinkin an fm transmitter or an aux input kit, which cuts the audio from the CD player to the aux line on the adapter. Let me know what you guys think is a better option. FYI, the fm transmitter i looked at is the monster one which retails at 60 but i can get it for 30, and the converter from crutchfield is 70

I have no doubt at all that the Auxiliary Input is the way to go. EVERY single FM transmitter that I have tried causes an unacceptable amount of static over the speakers. Whichever way you choose let us know. Good luck!

I'm with Miller on the FM transmitters, every one I've tried has sucked.

PAC makes a module so that you can take advantage of aux feature. I have read that people are very happy with this set up. There was something else I just read about this, and I will try and find it and post it.

the ms-8 has an aux in XD and is just pure bad *** when it comes to SQ, tie that into your OEM system and you'll **** your pants when you hear the difference. you know that's if you have a cool 500$ to drop into it. their getting down in price now should be able to score one on the cheap. i scored mine for 450$ but that was JBL direct. theirs the JL clean sweap, the rocker fosgate 3sixty2, also the alpine h800 or something that's coming out (big buzz) but that really is only useful with alpine decks...you know what none of these ideas are very good for your situation i'm just tired and bored But i know theirs an Ipod unit for our decks, i forget what it's called *google*

Don't know if it works on your year Monte, but get a GM 10348717 MP3 radio (comes from a Cavvy and Venture Van). Have the dealer re-program it to your car and you're done. No muss, no fuss and you can play MP3s on CD (that's what I did).
