keyless entry
hey there folks this has been happening for some time and it just crossed my mind to actually ask about it. so when i first got my car around 3 years ago i have keyless entry, it worked from very far away. but now today i have to be pretty much in front of my car to unlock it or anything, i changed the battry and nothing has changed at all. its the normal factory keyless entry system, i thought about getting a whole new factory one but i dont know how to set that up, so what could i do to fix this?

I've seen this on many electronics that move or are moved around. With the key fab, you can only drop it so many times before it starts acting stupid. You can go in and try to replace the components but unless you have some soldering experience, it's not an easy job.
The other question is, do you have an Aftermarket alarm? You can have your a/m alarm remote programed to take over the functions of the fab.
It sounds like normal wear and tear to me

maybe use a volt/ohmeter. i think youd neeed to get the wiring diagram though, i have it in my MC book but i dont think the pic would come out good lol. but id try to test the solenoid that actually opens the door or see if the line that is supposed to activate it (solenoid) is actually doing its job.

Testing the Solenoid and wiring is easy. Push the button on the door. Lock, Unlock, Lock Unlock! If the door switch works every time then the system works and the problem is in the Remote system. If not, then bust out the Ohm/Multi Meter and have at it! I think Jason may have or know where to get the wiring diagram for it! He does own a Monte Carlo Repair Library! Sorry to put you out there Jason!
