Default iPod integration

Im looking for the best option of integration my ipod into a 2004 Monte Carlo. It has band & aux buttons on factory unit. Single CD and Tape deck. And on-star installed (not used). I want to keep the car stereo as factory.

I had a 2003 Trailblazer which I installed This kit http://www.crutchfield.com/p_541ISGM...heral+gm&ssi=0

I'm thinking of just purchasing this kit again. and installing. How is the removal of the factory stereo? ANy walk throughs available?

Im open to other ipod integration ideas.

thanks for any help.

Looks like you have a couple options. I'm not positive which system is the right one for you, but you might want to check into these modules since they're cheaper and may work exactly the same.

those are expensive u might just be better off getting a new deck. If you can install it yourself you can find a decent deck for 70 bucks the integration harness for 50 and the mounting kit for 10 bucks. Your gonna have to do some hunting but you can find those prices on ebay.

It's not that hard. There's a few screws to remove, then you just pop the trim off like in most other cars. Once you've got the trim pieces off, remove the mounting screws and pull the radio out.

I have this harness to install.
I am going to buy some soldering paste and a heat sleeve to splice wires to getting... the harness has a constant 12v and a ground wire to splice. On a 2004 monte carlo, can these wires be splice with the factory harness? Or what are options for splicing the 12v and ground wire?

that adaptor doesn't look like the one you need to make an ipod connect.
its $119.xx but just buy the PAC module ISGM73 they make great stuff.
i have the gmlan module for my sony cd with usb port on the face plate, and the wheel control adaptor so the steering wheel controls still work with the head unit and they were easily installed by myself just time consuming and you need to know how to read a wiring diagram. the PAC modules came with color of wires to connect with which.

i bought the isgm73 (this kit http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=36, but from eBay) ... it comes with 3 wiring harness (PXHGM1, PXHGM2, & PXHGM3). For my factory stereo, the harness which I have to use is the PXHGM3 (pictured in my above post).

Im thinking of buying the "i-simple" gateway. It allows you to keep your factory head as well as use the steering wheel buttons to control the ipod.
