The second time, just before I was going to take it in because I didn't know what else to do, I went over every fuse again, and BAM! Found the bad one, replaced it, LIGHTS, BRAKES AND ALL WORKED AGAIN, 25¢ fuse ! Whew ! Good luck, that's what I'd try, there is even a relay in the fuse panel for it, to make sure it wasn't that, I swapped one to another to see if it worked, but it had no effect, but could just have well been the issue. DON'T FORGET THOUGH...I HAVE heard of some people messing with their wiring and accidentally set off their AIR BAG.... BE CAREFUL you don't short out any wires, or stuff, you just may end up with an air bag deploying (not saying you will , just an FYI... good luck and hope you don't have to pay that huge amount... Mjc Btw, did the wipers go out at the same time as the lights?

Also, just looked in the manual, there is a "fusible link" in the loop as well I'll try to think of a way to copy that section of my manual and e mail it to you... Mjc...
Could be true dunno but I have verticle doors and have had problems with the airbag wire pulling apart. I have reattatched them, tested them, hooked it up to the power window wire (accident lol) and nothing happpened... Luck? lol

ive had a similar problem with my 03ss but im not sure what it is. i put a new aftermarket radio in yesturday and me and my friend have done this plenty of times but for some reason my guages wont light up . when i turn the car on the headlights come on and so does the gears light, battery, seatbelt, etc.. come on and turn off like ususal but then the gear light gets really dim and nothing else is lighting up. my hazards are working and so are my blinkers and brake lights. but my tailights are not. i checked a few fuses last night but im going to go over all of them alittle later. please help if u have a idea what else it could be

That's EXACTLY what mine did, spot on... I tries everything, twice..lol... But the culprit was a FUSE on the passenger side fuse panel. I believe it was a 10 amp(red) fuse, make sure to check, and double check each one. If you have a continuity tester, put one end grounded, and then go thru each and every fuse, I'll bet you find a bad one on the passenger side. If you are in any doubts about checking the fuse, pull them one by one and see if they are blown ( look at the fuse and if there is a burn thru its evident that it's bad) good luck and let me know if you find the problem ... Mjc...I'll look again at the fuse and post a picture of what one it is. Some people don't know that there are fuses on the passenger side as well as under the hood. Some think they are only by the drivers side... Ty.. Mjc...

Thanks for the last post! Same problem and same fix. But had been blowing the taillight fuses but checked lamps and connections and tried again and it didn't blow. So happy to find the info here I just joined.

Angelbill, I would replace the headlight switch before I started looking at wires. These cars are notorious for the headlight/foglight switch suddenly going bad.
You can remove and replace it yourself. You can get one from a junkyard for about $50 or get a new one from the dealer. As first your windshield wiper, if one works its not your fuses or electrical. There is only one motor that is mechanically connected to both wipers. I think the one that isn't working is mechanical. Either the linkage is loose or the wiper arm is stripped where it is bolted to the spindle.
More info is needed for your tail lights. That could be a fuse or relay.

Earl, does your dash light up? You may have a loose connection or a bad instrument cluster. Either way, you are going to have to pull your dash apart!
