Honestly i think the relay is the only way cuz i tried to hook it with the parking brake & it would nvr work,

& walkingonabullet ima be installing one of those radios in a silverado looks to be one sweet unit

I have a 4300 in my Monte. I bought the video bypass relay on ebay for like $10. All you have to do is hook 3 wires up and you have video while driving. I agree on the plastic piece being removed. I dremeled mine out.

I have the Pioneer AVH-4300DVD in both my vehicles and love them!! They are non expensive compared to others.

i have the avh 3200 in my monte and i didnt buy a relay all i did was get a toggle switch that has two wires coming off it run one of them to the parking break wire (which mine was green) and run the other one to ground (mine is connected to my deck ground). Then all i have to do is flip the switch to on and i can watch a movie whenever i want hope this helps

By any chance do you have pics of how its wired or a step by step. I just got the same unit amd i will be installing it tomorrw.

Found a way to make this work. Install a toggle switch on the parking brake wire and ground the other side of the switch. You have to toggle it twice IIRC to get the video to display.
