HID bypass harness install?
I just bought a harness for my HIDs to bypass straight to the battery for power. I am wondering how other people installed this and where just so I have some ideas on where to mount the relay and such. Pictures would be great. I want to make it look as clean as possible that's why I am trying to get an idea first then do kind of a dry fit.

Sounds like you got a kit that can switch intensities for high/low functions. That's what I had to get for a family members 9004 dual bulb. For the Monte though high and low as you know are separate. With my kit they were strictly plug and play. No relays or wiring. Www.xtralights.com
did you get your kit from vleds.com?

it's been awhile since i installed mine (3 years ago) but if you still need pics let me know and i'll help you.
No the reason you buy one of these bypass kits is so you prevent flickering in the hids. the stock wires for the headlights can be a bit lacking so by turning the headlight wire into a switch that gives direct power from the battery you can get much more professional results. think of it like doing the big 3 except for your hids. (Big 1? or Big 2? maybe... i dont know havnt done it yet.)
Forgot to answer your question lol
Anyways i would run the wires from the battery whichever way you see looks good. the left light should be easy because the battery is right there but the other one you should be able to run across the front just be weary of moving parts(fan!!).
i dont know if your relay kit came with fuses but by bypassing your stock electrical your allso bypassing your headlight fuse. you need to make sure you got a fuse on there or else you could completely toast your hids or more importantly your battery if a short comes up. make sure your wires are all safe not to loose or to tight and the basic custom wire stuff. (shrink tube, electrical tape, bla bla bla, bla, bla)

"New Posts" means posts that are NEW since your last log-in. It's not the same for everyone. Since your thread had no new posts since your last log-in, it wasn't considered a new post to you anymore.
